How does Subtitles.app work?
Upload your media and we transcribe it. Free Use includes a medium tier model; Pro gets the best transcription models available. We can also translate into other languages. You can download results as .srt, .vtt, or .txt. Free Use uploads are auto-deleted on a schedule. With Pro, media is retained for up to one month and transcription files are retained indefinitely unless deleted.
How is my privacy handled?
Free Use media and transcripts are deleted automatically about 30 minutes after processing completes. You can also delete everything immediately when processing completes. Uploads are encrypted via SSL. Pro includes one month of media hosting and indefinite transcript retention. Each transcription has a unique URL, and Cloudflare helps protect against enumeration.
Why isn’t every transcription perfect?
Accuracy depends on audio quality, accents, domain terminology, and language. We continuously tune the pipeline for better general accuracy. If something looks off, please reach out—feedback directly improves results.
What is the minimum purchase?
Your first purchase can be $0.99 for testing. After that, each top-up has a $5 minimum.
Does my credit expire?
No. Credit never expires. Buy once and use it whenever you need.
What is the refund policy?
Start with the $0.99 first hour to check the quality before buying more. Purchases are non-refundable, but we review refund requests case by case — reach out via the support page.
